~That summer~

She looked up at my ceiling, finding it hard to believe she was already fifteen and about to be a sophomore. She closed my eyes, events of this year circling themselves in her head. She thought back to the whole incident with Rider and Ella. During all the chaos, she had forgotten all about school and my birthday. Making up all the work for school was just a huge pain in the ass, but she got it done anyways.

She sat there, reminiscing about the past as she heard a soft tap on my window, looking over to see it wide open. She just knew what that meant.

"Camella," he purred. She looked up to see him towering over me. A smile appear on her face as he leaned down to kiss her on the lips.

When he pulled back, her smile grew wider. "Kaden."

"Why don't you guys cut the love mush? We've got to go meet up with everyone else," Cadeo complained as he climbed through the window.

She reluctantly got up and went downstairs as they climbed back threw the window. She waved her aunt good-bye before setting foot outside of the house. As soon she let the door shut behind her, Kaden rounded the corner and wrapped her him a bear hug.

Cadeo honked the car horn loudly, making them laugh as they pulled apart and headed toward the car. They drove down the road, laughing and joking around until they arrived at the Pelnea home.

After parking the car, the walked inside, music blaring in their ears as soon as they walked in. People danced all around them as the weaved their way through the people, looking for their friends. Cadeo finally spotted Clara, Lucus, Lannie, and Silas chatting away near the bar. He motioned Camella and Kaden to follow them, but Kaden just held Camella back, watching their angelic friend head towards the other. Camella looked at Kaden, a confounded look on her face. He put his index finger to his lips as he wove their way through the crowd again to get to the door.

Once the climbed in the car, Camella immediately opened her mouth to pound Kaden with questions. "Where are we going?"

"Anywhere but here," Kaden smiled. "Maybe we can go catch a movie or something and then head out to dinner."

"Oh, you're in the dating mood," she laughed, but soon agreed to go anyways. They continued down the road, the house fading in the distance.

A little later, they walked out of the restaurant holding hand and laughing about things they had seen and heard recently. He looked over at the beach that was in the distance and flashed her a sly smile. She narrowed her eyes in suspicion at him, but he only laughed before picking her up like she was his bride. She laughed as she tried to get out of his arms, but he refused to let go of her. Once they made it to the sugar white sand, she jumped out of his arms, quickly stealing a kiss from him before she stuck her tongue out and started to running away.

Kaden couldn't help the smile that crept onto his face. Began chasing her down, tackling her as soon as he got close enough to her. She laughed loudly as she tried to get away, but he only pin her arms on both side of her head. She playfully nipped her his nose, giggling the whole time. he pretended to pout, but ended up cracking a smile as soon as she giggled some more. He leaned down, their foreheads touch as she quietly breath.

"Camella," he said lazily before slowly kissing her on the lips. She couldn't help but feel like this was like a sappy love movie as she kissed him back. When he pulled away from her, he got up, helping her to her feet. She looked at him lovingly, rising on her tip toes to kiss him on the lips, but instead she nipped at his nose again and turned to run away again. He wrapped his arms around her before she could run and pulled him close to him.

"You know, you still need to apologize for kissing all those boys when you knew how i felt," he growled in her ear. Her gaze dropped to the floor in guilt and sadness.

"Don't be upset. I'm not mad. I just want my reward," he muffled into her hair. "I also want ot make sure I strap Cadeo and Adam to a rocket and shoot them off somewhere so they don't have their lips anywhere near yours."

"Someone's jealous," she teased as she laughed.

"Maybe," he admitted. She felt her heart beat faster than it already was. It was hard to believe that she was here in his arms and not surprisingly dead and buried in a grave somewhere.

"DITCHERS!" a laughingly voice yelled at them. They pulled apart to turn around to see who was yelling at them. When they saw Annie running towards them with Adam and the others trailing behind, they couldn't help but smile.

Annie hugged her friend tightly, almost suffocating her. "You little pricks! How dare you leave the party without letting us know you were going to make out! If you wanted some alone time, we could of set you up in one of our special rooms."

Camella felt her cheeks burn. "Annie!"

The pink haired girl let go of her and started laughing. "don't worry. We know you guys are there.....yet."

Camella rolled her eyes at her friend. Adam placed his arm around her, weighing her down a bit, tossing her a seductive smile. "She could always come with me to the room instead."

Kaden shoved his friend away, standing in front of Camella protectively. "Over my dead body."

Adam smiled at his friend. "That could be arranged."

He talked Kaden to the ground, wrestling him as their laughter clashed. Camella felt the corners of her mouth twitch up. She was glad to have times like these. Times where she could just be with her friends and not care about what the rest of the world was doing.

"It feels good to finally be free with all the problems, doesn't it?" Clara asked as she and Lucus stood next to her hand in hand.

Camella glance at her friends before looking back at Kaden and Adam. "it feels great."

The sun started to drift lazily below the horizon as they continued to laugh. She felt a warmth spread out through her body. She looked towards the sky, wishing that Carlin could of been here to see all of this and be with them. She held his necklace in her hands, thanking him for saving them all.

"Hey, Camella," Cadeo called out. She looked over at him, only to be surprised with him picking her up and running away from the others. "Hey, Kaden! You better watch your girlfriend or she'll get kidnapped one day!"

Kaden shook his head and laughed as he chased Cadeo down, knocking all three of them to the ground once he got close enough. Their friends caught up and Adam knocked them all down onto the laughing group. They all erupted into laughter, their laughs colliding with one another.

Off in the distant, a smile crept onto his face as he watched them joke around. He was glad that they were able to be filled with warmth. He set a foot out from behind hte rock, prepared to join them.

"Carlin! We got the sand, it's time to go back!" a blonde boy stated.

Carlin looked at his friends one last time before facing his brother. "Right, let's go."

They began walking away, wings emerging gracefully from their backs as they floated up towards the sky. Carlin looked back at his friends and twin one last time, smiling. He felt a crystal tear slide down his face as he wished them good luck.

That's when he saw a black figure behind the trees.

Way to kill the mood.

He saw red eyes flicker their gaze up at him. Even in the sun they glew brightly against the darkness. A sick feeling formed in his stomcah as they disappeared.

Maybe this all hadn't ended the way he wanted it to.
