It was finally Saturday and the dance was in a week.
"Oh come on Emily we can go together it'll be fun",I was shuffling through my homework when I looked at her then said
"No! Nothing you say will convince me to go! We do this every year and every year people think lower of us because of it",
I went back to going through my homework
She looked at me slightly and said
"What about Miles"
I sighed and started going through my clothes
" No, he would never ask me",
"And you know this because...?"
"Just don't get your hopes up, ok?"
I glanced at her
"I hope he asks me" I told myself in my head
"I really do". My phone started ringing and before I could grab it Dust grabbed it and showed me and said
"I really thought you liked him Emily I really did!"
Then She stormed before I could stop her, I ignored the call because it was from Allan, he kept calling me and It was killing me.
I saw dust in the hallway the next day and tried to explain but she wouldn't listen I was devastated I wanted to cry; I was at my locker when someone tapped me on the shoulder, I closed my locker then turned around
"Emily" he said with open arms
"Are you ok?"
I nodded that I wasn't ok at all and gave him a hug, he walked me to history class and waved good bye, and he still didn't ask me to go to the dance.
"Man what do I do!"
Miles wispered loudly
"I mean what if she says no!"
"Hey man it's fine she won't say no she really likes you, it's kind of obvious", bitting his nails
"He nodded, then whipping his nervousness off his face then he walked into Science and sat next me
"Hey Miles"I said not even looking at him
"Uh hey are you ok?"
"Oh yeah I'm fine" glancing at him, then went back to the homework assignment
"Ok" he said even more nervous
Then before.
After school I started walking home without Miles because I was upset with the world, but like the man he is he wouldn't let that happen
He stopped me
"What the heck!" He said trying to be calm
"I'm fine ok! I don't need your protection all the time" I said sternly
"It's not that" he said holding my arm but I moved it
"Then what!"
"This! You are acting like you hate me! Ok because all I want to do is ask you-" I was starting to smile when a guy came up and bumped me into Miles
"Freak" they said
I pushed up my glasses as I got up off of Miles
"And this is why I walk you home" he said smiling and putting his arm around me I let him when he said
"Go to the winter dance with me please" I smiled and gave him a big hug as he picked me up and twirled me around in the air.
