"Do you have a Facebook?"
"Yes."
"I can't find you."
I raised an eyebrow.
"I'll send you a friend request."
He grinned.
We walked out of class together. He was telling me about one of the characters in the new book avidly.
I listened.
We went our ways to lunch.
He came up to me with his friends, as usual.
"Hey December. Do you have a quarter I can borrow?"
This was new.
I glanced at my friends and they had similar expressions on their faces. I could tell they were trying not to laugh.
I rolled my eyes.
"Yes. Why do you need it?"
"To buy something."
I rolled my eyes again, muttering under my breath. "No really?"
I took out a quarter and gave it to him.
"Thanks!"
The rest of the school day was uneventful. I could hardly keep my eyes open, I was so tired.
When I got home, I collapsed onto my bed an closed my eyes.
I thought about August.
I sat at my computer and added him on Facebook.
He immediately accepted my friend request and messaged me.
August: :OOOO
it's December!
Me: yeah...? no actually, it's November.
August: LOL
Me: what are u doing for the worst movie/commercial thing review for language arts?
August: dunno. u?
Me: probably the movie for the first book of our favorite series.
August: haha
Me: yeah, I need to finish it. It was so bad I had to stop watching.
August: HAHAHA. Yeah the actors were all cast wrong.
Me: uh huh. I should probably do my homework. bye
August: me too. cya tomorrow
I closed messenger and leaned back in my chair.
I smiled.
I couldn't deny it anymore. I liked August.
