Looking at the mirror
What do you see?
Do you see your real self?
Or the one you pretend to be?
Are those red-painted lips
The ones you dreamt to have?
Do they speak words
That lift a person up?
Or they chose to release
Daggers of lies, breaking hearts?
Are those soft pair of hands
The ones you greatly want?
Do they reach out to people,
Offering help to everyone?
Or they chose to slap away
Those who beg for a helping hand?
Are those accentuated eyes
The ones you greatly desire?
Do they seek to care for others,
Compassionate toward them?
Or they chose to intimidate,
Putting down the unfortunate?
Is that face you're looking at
The one you'd die to have?
A face covered with make up
That hides a withering heart?
Or a face that glows naturally,
Showing your beauty from within?
