"Kyle, what the hell man? You just left my sister at the dance? She was with someone? So you just decided that it was okay to leave her with a total stranger?"

I creep in the front door at about 11:30, only to hear my brother yelling over the phone. Great. Besides him yelling, the rest of the two-story house is quiet. My brother and I are the only ones here for a while. Our parents are in the government so they end up traveling a lot.

"You are a fuc- Never mind, Hannah's home. Talk to you later." My brother hangs up on Kyle and walks over to me. I smile sheepishly at him.

"I'm home," I say. He frowns in response.

"Hannah, what the hell were you thinki-" We hear a knock at the door. Confused, my brother opens it.

"Dane. Good to see you again." I look around my brother and start in surprise. Caleb.

"What are you doing here? I thought you left." I cross my arms and frown at him.

"I had a hard time actually leaving. And I knew you'd probably be getting in trouble with your brother. So, here I am." He winks at me and smiles.

"Yes. Here you are. Now may I ask why?" Dane glares at him, but he just continues to stare into my eyes, rendering me speechless for the moment.

Oops. I kinda forgot that my brother hates his guts. Last year, Dane was a senior. Just when he thought it was his time to be captain on the football team, Caleb comes in as a junior from Alabama and takes the spot from him. Doesn't matter that Caleb wasn't a senior yet, he was just the best on the team. Probably didn't help that Dane's a huge Sooner fan (and plays for them) and loathes Alabama in general.

"Didn't Hannah tell you, I'm in l-" I launch myself at him and clap my hand over his mouth. A little hard in my dress, but I managed somehow.

"You what?" Dane looks at us funny for a moment and then goes back to glaring at Caleb, whom I feel is smiling beneath my hand.

"I didn't have time to tell Dane anything Caleb, nor is there anything to tell him. So, please leave." I spin the boy around and push him down our front porch, almost making him fall in the process. Ushering a confused and irritated Dane inside, I look at Caleb one last time. He's walking backwards towards his truck with a drunkenly happy look on his face. I frown and shut the front door and lock it, standing there for a few seconds.

I'll just have to worry about it on Monday.

"Where did you guys go on Saturday? You just left me there," I complain to Amanda.

"It was just such a huge rush and everyone was telling us to leave the building, that we kinda...sorta...forgot." She looks down, ashamed. I sigh.

"Don't worry about it. I found a ride home." We continue to walk through the lunch line, getting salad and whatever else they decided to feed us today.

"Oh, did Kyle find a way to take you home? That's good," she mumbles.

"If one of my best friends didn't have the courtesy to remember me, why do you think my brother's friend would? No. He wasn't my ride." I roll my eyes while I get ice in my cup.

"Oh, well then who?"

"I'd rather not talk about it." Turning around abruptly, I run smack into a guy, spilling all of my tray's contents on him. I gasp in surprise. Getting through some explicit choice words on his part, I finally recognize who I did this to. My blood runs cold as my ex-boyfriend glares back at me.

"Landon. I-I'm sorry," I stutter.

"Sorry? You better be you little bitch." He steps towards me menacingly, but I don't back down. Amanda whimpers and holds onto my arm.

"I'm sorry, what was that Landon?" A voice says behind me. Landon looks surprised to see whoever is speaking.

"Nothing." Landon walks away. Assumably to go to the bathroom to clean up. I stare in disbelief at my ex. He's never given up on an argument so fast. I should know, our breakup was rough. Turning around, slowly this time, my eyes widen when I see who scared Landon away.

"Hey, love."

Amanda almost chokes and she starts coughing, looking at Caleb like he's grown a second head. I bend down to pick up my tray, sighing.

"Can you not call me that?" I ask irritably. He crouches down to help me.

"What do you want me to call you then?" He says softly. I look at him and give him a small smile. I push him over and then stand back up with my stuff.

"Absolutely nothing."

I drag Amanda back to our table and sit down, clearly aware that all eyes are on me.

This is going to be a long day.
