I looked up at the stars last night,
And the speckled constellations glistened like
Those spread on your nose and cheeks.
And the midnight blue of the sky
Reminded me of the sheets we
Tangled ourselves in, waiting
For the sun to make its return.

I looked up at the stars last night,
And the clouds curled like your hair.
Dark and loose and sprawled on a pillow,
The way it's meant to be.

I looked up at the stars last night,
And Luna casted a shadow that
Brought me back to the night
You showed me the dark side of the moon.

I looked up at the stars last night,
But the light from the city
Blocked them from my vision.
And I sat there, waiting
For the lights behind me to fade away,

But they persisted until dawn.
