The girl was asleep by the fire while her parents were out.She in the middle of sleeping when she heard the back door open softly."Ling's asleep " She heard her mom say.She felt soft,strong arms lift her up and put her in bed.Ling Su woke up in the middle of the night wondering where her parents were when she realised she was in bed and so were her parents.Life in Nagasaki was dangerous then because of World War 2.She saw light flooding through her curtains.The light shone on her dresses making them look as though they were lit up.One thing caught her eye and that was her warrior outfit she wore on days when Nagasaki needed protecting from the American forces."Mom?"She called whilst rubbing her eyes.No answer she thought.Must be downstairs Ling Su went downstairs only to find a note on the kitchen table.
Business calls.It said.It was written in handwriting that Ling Su didn't recognise at all.What had happened to her parents?
