My name is Leah Zest Cont'e and up until 2 days after my 12th birthday (yesterday) I was led to believe it was Marie Sallie Kerns. I also had no memories prior to the age of three. This is the story of how I regained my memories & claimed my right to the throne in my real home in the kingdom of Somberia.

"Just passed out during class." "Is she okay?" "Humph that's Marie for you." This is what I heard as I regained consciousness after passing out in Battle Strategies 201 in 4th period. I recognized the three voices as soon as their words were spoken. They were Ms. Angela the new school nurse, My (as I would learn the next day fake) mother Terri, and my 14 year old best friend forever (actually my sister) Erica Davidson.

Erica was the first one to notice that I had regained consciousness. I tried to get up but she shook her head at me and pushed me back down again which made a slight thumping noise. Although she was very fragile looking with a slim figure, apple red colored hair, & a dusting of freckles across her dainty face and nose, she was stronger than me. She pushed me down swiftly but not to fast that I couldn't see the tears brewing in her eyes (just as they always did when I was hurt or ailed in any way). "Ouch!" I exclaimed after I had regained my breath, "Erica that really hurt" I whispered to her as the two adults turned around to look at us. "Did it happen again?" Erica mouthed to me and I nodded in response Erica was the only one I had told about the strange visions I had been having recently, after which I usually passed out.

This vision had been of a little girl who looked surprisingly like Erica walking up to where I was viewing the scene from "Aren't the flowers so pretty." She whispered to me in awe of the field of lilies my favorite flowers encircling us. "Uh huh." I whispered just as softly to her. "Don't go picking any of them or they'll die. You see girls, these are flowers that bloom only once every 3 years they won't hold unless their encased in a spelled resin witch we don't have right now" said a tall woman who looked as if she could have been an older version of me. "Awww!" the little girl and I chorused sadly. "But we can come back with a special resin next time right Mommy?" the girl next to me asked. "Of course dear" said the woman slightly chuckling with a broad grin on her face. This is where I must've passed out. "Erica take Marie home would you?" asked my (fake) mother seeming not to notice the tears in her eyes. "Of course Mrs. Kerns." Erica replied already helping me up.

"Ladybug I'm home!" Terri exclaimed as she walked through the door. "Mom I told you to stop calling me that I'm not a baby any more." I moaned in response to her greeting. "You'll always be my baby." She said with tears in her eyes. "I'm going to go to bed now." I said in an effort to break the awkward moment of silence. I turned and began walking away so she gently grabbed my wrist "Wait Marie in the morning your of 12th birthday we need to discuss something." She opened her mouth to say something more but was interrupted by the front door opening and closing. "I'm home!" My (also fake) father Jim called out "Daddy!" I cried out, happily hugging him. "Ladybug!" he cried out just as happily while hugging me tightly & spinning me around in the air. "You were saying?" I asked Terri as soon as I was released from my hug "Oh it can wait." She replied with a false smile on her lips.

I breathed a sigh of relief as I shut my door after practically running up the stairs to get away from the tense atmosphere that had begun building in the room. I looked at my room the window seat the pale green walls with white lilies painted on it, my queen sized bed in the center of the room with a comforter to match the wall except it also had humming birds painted on it, my pale yellow silk curtains, the oak dresser in the back left corner with butterflies engraved on it. "Hello Lily" I whispered in response to my Himalayan kitten rubbing up against my ankles purring after I had changed into my nightshirt. Lily was my pet, familiar, & part of the family. I picked her up & climbed into bed her curled up under my hand with the black lily on it a mark I'd had since birth I kept it wrapped in gauze during school afraid of being shunned by the others Erica was the only one other than my (fake) parents who had seen the birthmark. Lily's purring lulled me to sleep "A whole year & nothing has changed." I told Lily as my eyes fluttered shut.
