Growing up in the Philippines can be described in a curious mixture of two contrasting words: Boring and Extraordinary. As most humans do, I tried to find sense in my existence, that ultimate question that people sought for an answer their whole lives: Why on earth am I here for?”

Most days are ordinary. But like twists in every good story, there are some unexpected events that can change the whole a plot and make the next chapters better than the ones before.

Life has no meaning. But as I retrace my steps, from childhood up to what I am today, I figured that, truly, life has no meaning… in the beginning. There will come a point in our lives that one will realize that WE are the ones who bring meaning to it. That we are not just given the chance to live, but also to give some sense to it.

“Memoir is about handing over your life to someone and saying, This is what I went through, this is who I am and maybe you can learn something from it.”
