Hello. I am dedicating this piece to Dr. Graffam. He reminded me why writing is so important and what you write about is even more so.

Thank you, Dr. Graffam.

This is for the future women (and men) and the day when a law will be put into motion and the salary gap will close.

What started out

As a notion

Turned into

A law

And was put into

Motion

Made me quite

Ecstatic

Because a

Small change

Starts the falling

Of

The Jenga Tower

And creates an

Eruption of emotions

Something seldom seen.

With love,

That runs

Deeper than the

Mississippi River

is long

I say, thank you!

Women didn't matter,

Then,

They played a

Small role

In the society

Child bearers

And caretakers

Thankfully,

Gaining the

Right to vote

And now,

Trying to

Bridge the

Salary gap

Between

Genders

Women lower

Men higher

What a

Patriarchal society

That we live in

Not Fair,

77 cents

per dollar

Same degree

Same occupation

What has this world come to?

All of the

Working women

Say

Thank you

For signing,

Hopefully we

Can readapt

And put

All of the

Inequalities

Aside

One

Small step

at a time.

Will the salary gap ever close?
