Flash forward
I peeled open the delicate pages of Allie's journal. My tears dripped onto the pages, blurring the ink words. I felt my hands trembling as my eyes began skimming over her words.
"You alright, mate?" I heard Louis' voice from behind me.
For moments I did not reply. I simply stared down at the pages that her beautiful hands must have glided over a million times. "It's her journal," I uttered at last. "I found her journal."
Louis' footsteps grew nearer and I felt his presence behind me. He placed his hand on my shoulder. "Harry . . ." I glanced behind me to Louis who stood towering over me. His blue eyes were dampened with tears. "You need some rest."
"I can't."
"Let's go back to the hotel. Bring the journal if you want."
I nodded, rising from the ground, journal in hand. "She gave me her heart, Lou. She gave me her heart."
