As we go back home, five more steps away from our house, I just sighted my sister Nina in front of our door and was about to open it when I yelled at her, “Nina! Wait for me!” that made her stop. I took the arm of the old man off my shoulder and left him; I immediately ran to my sister and hugged her tightly. This is the very first time that I hugged my sister. I don’t know what could possibly happen next to me in this village, that’s what I’m always thinking of. What happened a while ago made me feel that I have to be grateful because I still have them. Yes, maybe I could not have friends here but it does not mean that I am alone. By this time, maybe you won’t get me.

Nina was shocked about what I did. She hugged me back and patted my head, “Ok, let’s go inside. Did something happen?” she insisted. Am I going to tell her what happened? Shoot! I really don’t know what to say or what to do. “No… Nothing… Really… I just missed you!” I hastily answered her. I scratched my head, oh my goodness, I lied to her. What if I tell them the truth, are they going to scold me? NO! Argh! I want to squeal! I want to fink what the gangster did. “What is it Josh?” my sister asked turning her head to the left in able to see me. “Huh? Did I say something? You’re getting weird, eh?” I uttered and for the second time I lied again. I put my right arm on her shoulder and swept her off to the kitchen.

“Josh! Nina! Where have you been? Come here, eat your lunch now. I have just cooked burger steak, fried chicken and mixed vegetables” my mom offered. Eew, yuck! I hate vegetables! “Wow! Mixed vegetables! I like it! Josh, come on let’s eat. Take a seat,” my sister amazingly replied to my mom while offering me to sit right beside her. Why do girls love eating those leafy things? Are they goats? “Hey, stop smiling Josh, you have to eat. You’re getting weird, huh?” my sister added. I sat down beside her and started to eat.

Walter’s point of view:

As we go back home, the kid saw her sister in front of their house and was about to open the door. The kid immediately took my arms off his shoulders. He left me standing here alone.

By the way, it’s alright. I’m finally here in front of my house. I can clearly see my beautiful lawn and my two vehicles outside. I push the door gate and entered in. Each and every step I took I can sense that somebody is inside. I gently opened the door and push it slightly in able for me to peek if someone’s there. “Hi there, Walter Thomson! What’s up?” a tall woman greeted as she walks near to the door. My dog Lou came near at me as well. I bend forward to reach my Labrador and affectionately patted his head with my left hand while the other is still holding the door knob. How did you get in here? How’d you unlock my door, huh? I asked the lady while my head’s still downcast as I pat Lou’s head.

“I know where you hide your key.” The lady reasoned. Uh, well. What brought you here? I interrogated her as I started to step and come inside my house. I walked in and closed the door behind me. I had notice that my sofa was being misplaced so I planned to carry it up and put it back on its exact position.

I was about to carry the sofa when the lady grabbed my arm, “You want me to help you with that?” she hastily asked. NO! You probably just painted your nails. I responded and smiled benignly, and she sighed.

After I carried the sofa on its place, somebody rings the door bell. Mister? Mister! Are you in there? I brought something for you!.. I quickly ran to the door and opened it. Oh, it’s you! What are you spook up to? I asked him belligerently. “Uh, well, I just brought you mixed vegetables; it was cooked by my mother. Here, take it.” He kindly offered. Trying to bribe me? I asked him with a smile on my face. “Is it working?” he replied aggressively then he gently smiled too. Well… Thanks kid! You wanna come in? I asked him and he nods. I open the door widely so he can come in, as he walks through; he smiled to the lady and sat on the sofa. I shut the door behind me and he asked, “Who is she?” while pointing to the tall lady standing beside the sofa, looking at him. A thief. I answered him quickly, trying to hide my smile while he answered back, “You’re funny.” I walked inside my kitchen and put the mixed vegetables to the other container and started to eat it while walking back to the living room, I’ve been called a lot of things kid, but never funny. Then, Josh slightly smiled and helped himself to stand up. Something caught his attention; he slowly walked near to my table beside the TV Set. He picked up the picture frame on the table and stared at it bemusedly.

The lady draw near to me and whispered,“I think the kid was befuddle. Who is he anyway?” I reacted to her while looking at Josh; He is the kid living next door. He has an older sister and a mother; I don’t know where his father is. “Oh, I see,” the lady responded.

Hey, Josh! That’s a Family Picture. I shouted and he looks back and sits again on the sofa, I also sit beside him while the lady gets two glasses of orange juice for us. Josh is still holding the picture frame. “You have two sons and a daughter? Where are they?” he asked bemusedly. I let out a sigh. My two sons see me as “Always-disappointed”. They are always avoiding me unless it is in their own interest to pay me some attention. I viewed them as rude, spoiled and self-absorbed, I don’t know where they are, and I also don’t even care about them. I shared. “How about your daughter? Where is she?” Josh interrogated me as he grabbed the glass of juice on the table and drink it.

“I am his one and only daughter!” the lady interrupted our conversation. She’s right kid! She’s my daughter, the youngest child in the family. I don’t even know what brought her here. Josh was shocked about what he knew. He almost blow-out the juice he’s drinking. “What! She’s your daughter?!”he amazingly asked. Josh put the glass down and reached out his right hand to my daughter and tells his name, “I’m Josh. Josh Howe.” He gently smiled as my daughter stretched his arm and reached Josh’s hand, “Nice to meet you Josh, my name is Annie. Annie Thomson.”

Josh already knew who my daughter is and what her name is. He forgot to ask again mine. Funny kid! I chuckled, the two of them looked at me confusedly, “What’s funny?” Josh asked curiously.

YOU! Hahaha, by the way, I’m Walter Thomson. I reached out my hand to him. “Oh, I get it! I almost forgot to get your name. I’m Josh Howe. Nice to meet you Mr. Thomson” he reached my hand and smiled benevolently.

He grabbed again the glass of juice on the table and he also gets the other one and he gives it to me. “Drink it.” He kindly offered.

I was about to drink the juice which is made by my daughter when we heard a lady screamed for help. My daughter ran immediately to the window and gazed what’s happening outside, “Oh my gosh! Shiiii…” she nervously paused and look back to us, “What’s going on?!!” she added.

Relax zipperhead! I mumbled.
