Dear Tyler,

A friend once told me that you can be lonely, but you're never alone. That you can be unhappy, but no one but yourself can make you happy. Your destiny is in your hands and I've learned over the past year to let myself be happy. To let myself not feel so alone. And even though I'm not going to lie and say that I never feel that emptiness anymore, I need to say that without you, I would still be one of those people wandering around helplessly, looking for some sign of a bright future. You taught me how to find hope. You showed me how to let that light, that love, in.

I read somewhere that falling in love is like falling asleep, but I disagree because you have no control over your dreams. And your dreams are always either perfect or nightmares, but that's not what love is. You taught me that love is like dancing with someone. It can be beautiful, and graceful, and perfect, but it can also be painful, and difficult and you never know what might happen. And even though you don't always choose who you dance with or how well you end up dancing togther, it's always a journey.

Thank you for dancing with me, Ty.
