The Providence Public School District's Code of Conduct is unclear and is quite archaic. No major changes since 2005! It misses crucial points regarding school environment, consequence, and emotional support; plus, it lacks the basic option of offering itself in other languages. After researching many documents, it is obvious that all code of conducts are written by the people up top—superintendents and other school leaders. It is truly unfortunate that students have no voice regarding this matter. What can, ——Academy or better yet, Providence Students, do to improve the Providence Code of Conduct? Join the Providence Student Union. Fight for the voice of the scholar, address this issue there. The Providence Student Union as of now is pushing for the implementation of a Student Bill of Rights. Any change at this point can only be a good thing. Parents who have concerns should bring them up at meetings. What else is missing? What other change should be made?
