Four short words

a simple painted scrawl

"How long is now?"

staring from the wall.

Now is neverending

a golden time to live

the past can't be redone

don't waste your time, forgive

So much drama

so much pain

So many gazes gone dull

from the happiness they feign

I don't care about the past

while we're here together

I'm not worried 'bout the future

because now is forever.

I know you have to leave

tomorrow you'll be gone

but I'm living in the now

so I'll hold you 'till the dawn

I'm focused on the present

so I'll cry, so I'll smile.

I'll spend my time with you

since I have you for a while.

It made me think

about what's important.

One day at a time,

life's much less discordant.

Four short words

a simple painted scrawl,

"How long is now?"

staring from the wall.
