Prologue: A history of the Universe

More than six eons ago, the universe began. No one is clear on how it came to be, but theories range from a mere cosmic coincidence, to divine power. The most commonly accepted theory is that the simple act of Time and Space meeting at one point is enough to instantly create 'reality' where ever it intersects. Whatever the case, as Ancient Aladorian legends go, it is clear that where ever the universe came from, something... might have followed it.

The gods began shaping the unstructured, unorganized universe into something more. They created galaxies, planets, stars, moons, all of the things that exist in the night sky and more. They wrote all of the laws of magic and science, laying the foundations for order. At the height of their creation, they created a world, one unique from the rest of the worlds, they endowed it with the strength of their will, this one planet became a garden of paradise which to create mortal races one day. The gods placed it near the center of the universe, and gave it the name, Aladoria. Its star was given the name 'Galthedrial', meaning, "The Lady". At the end of their labors, the gods finally stopped their work and admired their creation... while they could. For while they came out of the void to give shape to the universe, as the instruments of Order and Creation, something else began to creep after them, from the void, born from the void, to return all to the void.

The Demon emerged. Born from the void, for one terrible purpose, that being the end of all things, its forgotten name is rumored to literally mean, "The One Chosen to Destroy". Simply known as The Demon of Apocalypse, its terror and might far surpassed the limits of the gods, it knew no equal, no master. It was said to be the representation of all that is evil, hatred, lust, greed, malice, every last cruel and wicked thing was its power, and so began the Battle of Creation.

For thousands of years, the gods and the Demon waged war, the demonic armies of the One Demon clashed violently with the mighty celestial armies of the gods, while the two leaders of the gods, the Goddess of Light Irintis, and the Goddess of Darkness, Luminta, faced off with the demon itself. After thousands of more years fighting, Luminta was spent, her power drained, unable to continue. The Demon then sent her aside, she traveled so far she was lost forever; the gods could find no trace of her. The Demon soon turned its attention to the lone Goddess of Light, Irintis. Irintis bravely fought, but could no longer hold it back. With a might blow, the Demon cast her aside and marched to Aladoria, left almost completely unprotected.

The only defender left was the younger sister of Irintis, Aladimia. She would become known later for the creation of several Mortal races, such as the Fairies. She gazed on the crumpled form of her sister Irinitis, and knew she had to do something, lest the whole Universe fall. Gathering all of her strength, she split it, soul and body apart. Its soul was trapped in Aladoria's core, while the body was thrown to Limbo, the world beyond time and space. Weak, Aladimia barely managed to seal away the dark demon's powers, and saved the entire Universe... so goes the legend. However, the story of this legend has been lost to time... and none now live who know of its dark toll.

Millions of years later, the Dragons were born. Dragons, were created by Irintis, and infused with the power of the elements by the Elemental Gods, their lifespan and strength boosted by the gift of the god of magic. The first of the mighty dragons to evolve were the Primal Dragons, Hurricane, Vulcan, and Arcane. These three lone dragons would reform the damaged worlds, and reshaped all of Aladoria, whose surface was damaged by the ancient War of Creation. These dragons were immortal, and only served to restore balance to Aladoria. But in time, new dragons emerged. These dragons were by far the strongest. They were called Grandfather Dragons, but their long deceased remains are referred to as 'Dawn Dragons' today. From the Grandfather Dragons, three types of weaker but more diverse dragons were born, Chromatic, Gem, and Metallic. Under the leadership of the Grandfather Dragons, Aladoria lived in quiet peace for millions of years, thus dawned the Age of Dragons.
