Chapter 2
"Police are still looking into the death of Fay Tanner. Last Wednesday, Tanner was found dead at the bottom of the stairs in her home. Suspects will be taken in to the town's courthouse for questioning tomorrow afternoon. Until then, I'm Sasha Reynolds. Star News."
I shut the TV off.
No doubt they were taking me in for questioning.
I got up and turned around to go to my room.
But there--standing in front of me--was the little girl I saw at Fay's funeral. Still in the same tattered, old-fashioned clothes.
"Plans have changed," she said.
"Plans? What? What plans? Who are you?"
"Help her." she whispered.
"Help who?" I said, startled.
"Help the girl who wears the red..."
"Who wears red? WHO?"
"The girl..." and with that, the little girl disappeared again.
The girl who wears the red?
A cheerleader, maybe?
Kelsey Potts?
I grabbed my jacket and ran for her house--maybe I could get there in time.

I knocked as hard as I could on Kelsey's front door.
"Hello? Grace?"
"Kelsey! You're okay!"
"Why wouldn't I be?"
I had no back up story. Crap. "I heard you were sick..." I said with a questioning tone.
"Oh, no! I'm doing fine!," she gave me a smile.
"Great! Well, I gotta go? Bye!"
"Bye, Grace!"
And I ran all the way home.
