Coffee Stains

vii: nobody knows

Nobody knows what

could have been of

Humphrey and Ally,

Ally and Humphrey

because they never

happened.

Nobody knows whether

they would have made a

cute couple, the kind that

most are envious of yet

respect at the same time,

or not.

Nobody knows if they would have

crumpled a part instantly, because

while coffee and tea are similar they

are not the same, or not.

Nobody knows because

one was too scared to even try

and believed that that type of love

couldn't possibly exist. After all, she'd

seen so many fail at their happy ever afters

(even though they'd actually had the guts to try).

While the other, a boy, who was tired of wondering,

waiting and hurting left the little café in exchange for

a quaint tea shop across town (far from the coffee addict

who'd crushed him without even uttering a word).

Nobody knows that years later,

they(Ally and Humphrey, Humphrey and Ally) 

both regret the nights and days wasted on wondering

what could have been, what should have been,

what might have been.

Nobody knows because

they, Humphrey and Ally,

never gave themselves a

chance to try.
