"Bullies"

Started in fourth grade.

Boys called her ugly.

Two years straight.

New year. New school.

She thought it was over.

Boy, she was wrong.

People started to comment.

She ignored it at first.

But it kept going.

Made her seemed like a failure, her parents too.

Most memorable insult was "filthy pig."

They said they cared.

But it's hard to tell.

These still haunt her.

These still make her cry herself to sleep.

It's true what they say,

Sticks and stones may break bones but words leave scars that can't be undone.
