Some Words On A Paper
I had nothing to loose and everything to gain.
You see my friend was in pain.
She thought nobody heard.
I did but all I had was my words.
I wanted to make her feel better.
I wanted to let her know we could weather this storm together.
I just wanted her to know she wasn't alone.
I wanted to give back some of the love she has always shown.
I knew the pain from which she came.
I had lost many and could give it a name.
So I put my words to paper.
To in some small way help her.
I did not realize how much it would mean.
The enormity of it, I could not have foreseen.
Because I couldn't see my own sadness.
Until once again it was revealed, her happiness.
It was so contagious.
Thru my happy tears I could see there were better days ahead for both of us.
I just didn't want her gentle heart to burn.
I didn't expect anything in return.
She said my words gave her feelings a voice.
And my heart rejoiced.
The love she gave back,
I didn't even know my life had lacked.
Just some words on a paper.
Then we both felt better.
