"Elkie! Are you nearly ready?"
"Yeah come on Elks, Belle just called, the boys are already at the club!"
I smile at myself in the mirror.I'm feeling pretty good about tonight. It's three months since I first arrived in London and I've already got three best friends. Belle's a few months older than me and absolutely gorgeous. She's got long blonde hair and it's always perfect. Never a hair out of line. She's a hit with the boys too, as you could probably guess. Beth, short for Elizabeth (after the Queen of course) is incredibly funny and wild. Her hair, much like her personality is out of control. Sophia is my best friend out of the three. We get along like a house on fire, despite being complete opposites. She's outgoing and has a lot of confidence. Probably too much, actually.
"Damn Elkie, you babe! You've got to find a guy tonight! How long has it been?"
"Shut up Soph!" I laugh along with Beth while Sophia frowns at me.
"Come on Elks, darling. Let one of those charming English gentlemen woo you."
Beth and Soph burst out laughing. I shake my head at them both while trying to hide a smile. When I first came to London, I expected guys to be gentlmanly and like someone out of a 1800's movie. In Australia, English men just have this stereotype about them, and the girls didn't understand it because they were English.
"Oh my god, I'd nearly forgotten that!" Beth is almost in tears she's laughing that hard.
I sigh and give them both a glare. We walk out to Soph's car, and Beth is still laughing. God, it wasn't that funny, was it? We're going out to one of the 'hottest' dance clubs tonight, to celebrate. What it is that we're celebrating, I'm not too sure. Probably nothing, knowing Soph. I'm not all that keen on clubbing, but Belle insisted I come tonight. I couldn't be bothered arguing with her anyway.
"WE"RE HEREEEEEEE!" Sophia deafens me with her excited squeal when she pulls up to a parking lot.
"Well, nearly here, we've got to walk a few blocks first."
"Like how many blocks S?" I ask
"Umm I don't know. It'll take like 15 minutes maybe?" She grins sheepishly at us.
