Jokers were largely omitted from most games anymore, it's how it was. When it was included it was usually for a replacement of another card that was lost with someone penciling in the new value onto the card entirely in marker or pen, defacing its surface to serve a new purpose.

True, there were some games where the Joker was used. Some made it a wild card while in a few scarce games when it could be included it was a card that was to be avoided at all costs.

That was the purpose of the Joker anymore. It served no set purpose because it had no set purpose, instead it served many and seemed to all to be more of an annoyance than anything else.

When HUNK thought of Fang he couldn't help but conclude that she was very much like the Joker card. It was a strange thought but one that was true and he couldn't shake the comparison.

In many instances she was avoided altogether, even by her own teammates but it seemed to him that she preferred it this way. There were times he would catch glimpses of her seemingly content on her own after having chased everyone away with her eccentric antics and she would quiet down. Likewise when she was sent on a mission it was usually in place of another who was suddenly missing or as reinforcements only because they had lost a vital teammate whose skills she shared.

Even more like the Joker she was that wild card. Many wouldn't know it by looking at her but she was as much an asset to the company as he was. When others failed she was sent out to clean up the mess and fix things. These times however were few and far between and many forgot about them almost as soon as they were completed.

HUNK couldn't however. She was nearly on par with him in term of skill and this left him feeling strangely competitive. Even stranger still was the fact that Fang didn't seem all that competitive about it. In fact she spent more time lazing around then training though when she did train she took it seriously.

HUNK grunted, slinging his arm around Fang's shoulders. She emitted a grunt of her own out of surprise, blinking up at him curiously. Without looking at her he spoke.

"You're more tolerable when you aren't clowning around."

A smug look crossed her face at that and she leaned her face closer to his. "Is that so?"

HUNK couldn't help but smirk as she nipped at his cheek though annoyance was still obvious on his face at this newest antic of hers.

If Umbrella had to be summed up in terms of the values in a deck of card Fang was definitely the Joker.
