This world

This world is a funny place,

Everything out of our grasps.

We can't control the future,

We can't change the past.

Our parents teach us to be cautious,

In this world filled with dangers.

As strangers become friends,

Friends become strangers.

And we wish for a better future,

We wish for something to be sure.

But the confusion that takes over,

Sadly lacks a cure.

We live our lives day by day,

And we walk these streets alone.

Looking for a helping hand,

Looking for a home.

Some of us may find it,

And some of us may not.

For in this crazy, unfair world,

We may not all get a shot.

So take each chance you're given,

No matter how hard it seems.

For the perfect world we wish for,

Lives only in our dreams.
