The plane began to take off

I didn't realize I was grabbing onto Jack's arm until he told me.

"Dang Leah, you have a tight grip." He said.

I opened my eyes to see my fingers clutched around his arm.

"Oh my god, I'm so sorry!"

I pulled away as fast as I could

I heard him say something but I didn't want to know. I turned up my music a few notches and went back to staring out the window.

Once the plane was air bound I started to relax a little.

I could feel Jack's eyes staring at my with a slight smile on his face.

Should I feel self conscious or flattered?

I started thinking about a conversation i had not too long ago with my friend, Brianna.

You could say she's more into guys and relationships than I am.

Anyway, she was telling me about some hot guy on an app called Vine.

She showed me videos of her "boyfriend" Taylor Caniff. But I remember seeing someone else in a Vine...

"Wait a second, you're Jack Gilinsky, right?" I blurted out without thinking.

He chuckled a bit then replied "Why, yes I am."

    Oh great he's famous.

I bet thousands, even millions of girls like him.

            There goes my luck...

But I never had an intention of dating him right?

I just shook it off popped my headphones back in.

Jack elbowed me lightly in the ribs to get my attention.

I pulled off my headphones and gave him a little eyebrow raise as if to tell him I was listening.

"I wanna get to know you better." he said with a sexy half smile.

   "Why?" I replied.

No one has been interested in me since last year, before my parent's divorce. And to be honest I'm perfectly fine with that.

I didn't want to fall for someone who I knew would someday break my heart.

"You just, seem interesting, plus you're... beautiful."

"HAH!" I gave off the most unattractive laugh at him calling me beautiful.

I'm seriously concerned this boy is blind.

He looked at me with a confused face

"What? You are... no one has told you that before?"

I looked at my shoes and felt anger build up inside of me.

"I'm not interested in dating anyone, I'm not interested in finding love, and I sure as hell am not interested in finding someone like you."

I regretted it as soon as I said it.

    "Ouch..." He said softly.

"Jack, I'm sorry I didn't mean it.. I just... don't believe in love, okay?"

"I get it, Leah.... could we start out as friends?" Jack asked.

As much as I didn't want to, I agreed to being friends. The only friends I need are Brianna and Kelly. They're practically my sisters and I'm not sure I have much trust left for any more friends.

Jack and I started playing the question game, which was actually quite fun.

He asked my what my favorite color was. I asked him what sports he plays, etc.

We played for about 15 minutes until he asked me a question I was hesitant to answer.

"Leah, why don't you believe in love?" he asked.

My eyes became cloudy as I remembered my parents fighting.

My mom was bursting into tears begging for forgiveness from him.

My dad was screaming and also crying.

Things were thrown and then man sleeping with my mom got badly beaten from my dad.

My memories were interrupted by Jack.

"No, don't cry, you don't have to answer I'm so sorry I asked!"

  I forced out my answer

"I don't believe in love because my parents divorced. My mom cheated on my dad last year. They we're never in love so I lost hope in ever being in love.

     Does that answer your question?"

Jack nodded his head and that was the end of the question game.

I closed my eyes and daydreamed before I fell asleep again.

I woke up just a few minutes until the plane was about to land.

My head was resting on Jack's shoulder.

I'm glad he didn't move it, it was actually quite comfortable.

Jack smiled at me and opened his mouth to speak.

"I think you're an amazing person, Leah, and you shouldn't give up on love because it didn't work out one time. And if you're willing, I'd like to get your number so we could get together more often."

I sighed and then recited my phone number to him.

He flashed a big smile at me.

That beautiful, beautiful smile.
