CHAPTER TWO

~Paige's POV~

“Min this is Nica my girlfriend”

Girlfriend…

Girlfriend..

Girlfiend.

Girl…

Friend..?!!!!

Those words keep on repeating in my mind. I need to calm myself down. I already called Sam to check who Monica Alvarez is, and turns out, she is a culinary student at Academia Barilla in Italy, not bad, I thought to myself. So si Ate gusto niya ng marunong magluto…which is actually my forte. After graduating here I plan to go to Paris, France to study at Le Cordon Bleu. Kaya siguro naattract si ate sa kanya… Siguro yung mga gusto niya yung mga marunong magluto. So I need to devise a plan kung saan ipapakilala ko siya sa isang lalaking marunong magluto. Hmmmm… but before that, irerelive ko muna ang pagkastress ko with no other than food.

Hmmm… san kaya masarap. Then I spotted a newly opened bakeshop. Though I like all kinds of food, I prefer sweets, so I headed for a bakeshop named “ Emmery’s Bakery & Patisseries”.Though konti lang yung mga tao dun, siguro masarap naman. ( but I think mahal siguro)

I looked at the menu. And all I could say is wow… Halos lahat ng nandon ay super hirap gawin. Baka dito ko na mahanap yung lalakeng kailangan ni Ate. So kinausap ko yung babae sa counter.

“Uhhmmm…” I said struggling to say something. Then I saw her nameplate.

“Ahhh..Anne?” Sabi ko dun sa babae

“Ay! Ano po yun Ma’am?” sagot niya sakin.

“Sino yung chef dito?” tanong ko sa kanya.

“Bakit po Ma’am?”

“Pwede ba akong magorder na wala sa menu?”

“Ah, sige po, itatanong ko lang po” Tapos umalis siya ng sandal.

Tapos bumalik siya.

“Eh Ma’am sorry po pero hindi daw po” she said while wearing an apologetic smile.

“Ah sige. Maghahanap na lang ako ng ibang pwede” Tapos paalis na sana ako nang biglang bumukas yung pinto ng pang employees lang. and out came, a monster… Just kidding! Out came a man with raven black gorgeous hair with emerald eyes. He looked so perfect. He even smelled great.

He then snapped his fingers at my face. Oh my God, I was staring at him.

“Ay! Ano yun?” tanong ko sakanya.

“Sa pagkakaalam ko, ikaw yung naghahanap sakin di ba?” sabi niya sakin. What an arrogant jerk, hanggang sa mukha lang pala siya… let’s see kung marunong talaga siyang chef.

“Oo nga pala, I was just wondering if you could make me a Baumkuchen, Baked Alaska and Lemon Meringue Pie, Please?” I told him with a smirk.

“So in short papahirapan mo ako?” he told me.

“Oh! No! I wasn’t implying that. Pero kung mahihirapan ka just like you said. Aalis na lang ako, just like what I was supposed to do a while ago” I told him with my innocent smile on. :)  I know that would piss him off.

“Ahhh… so tinggin mo I,Lucas James Shultz a Le Cordon Bleu graduate,hindi kayang gawin yung mga pinagsasasabi mo?” he asked me habang nakataas yung kilay niya.

“Oo” sagot ko sakanya challenging him.

“Hep! Bago pa kayo magpatayan diyan at sumikat sa youtube. Why not settle this with deal.” Sabat nung isang lalaki na kalalabas lang dun sa pintuan kung san galing si ”Lucas James Shultz”, In all fairness, gwapo din siya though he has raven colored hair and hazelnut brown eyes.

“Lloyd, anong klaseng deal?” tanong niya kay Lloyd.

“Ewan, bahala kayo, basta tumahimik lang kayo. Nakakahiya sa mga costumers eh.”

“Lam ko na!” pasigaw kong sinabi kaya sabay silang nag-ssshhhh sakin.

“ Kapag nagawa mo lahat yung mga sinabi ko I will work here for like…let’s say, five months. Kapag naman hindi mo nagawa, I’m free to eat here for five months” I said taunting him.

“Sounds fair enough” He said while smirking. “I better get started then” he added with a smile. Tapos bigla siyang lumapit tapos bumulong siya sakin, “You’ve clearly messed with the wrong person”

After three hours 9 pm na. 1 hour left and the mall will close. Unfortunately for me, naserve na yung Baked Alaska and Lemon Meringue Pie sakin, and I must say with all honesty,they were mouthwatering. Pasalamat yung Lucas na yon, konti lang yung mga taong dumarating. Ang nandon lang ay si Ate Anne, yung nasa counter, Si Lloyd na nagaasikaso ng mga costumers which are like five or so, at last si Lucas, na busy na busy parin sa Baumkuchen ko. Bwahaha…I said to myself which actually came out loud enough for them to hear

“Bwahaha ka pa diyan! Eto na baumkuchen mo! Bukas punta ka dito 10 am at starting tomorrow you will work here” He served me a baumkuchen with an evil smirk in his face.

I just stared at him and the baumkuchen wide eyed.

“Oh? Nganga ko noh? By the way fill this up” Sabi niya sakin.

He handed me a contract that I needed to fill up, because me, Paige Minnionete Ambrose, loss to a bet.

”Hmmpphhh…mamaya na lang, titikman ko muna yung baumkuchen” I said ignoring him.

“Uh-huh… just make sure to fill this up and pay for your bills. Takaw mo rin pala noh?” Sabi niya sakin.

“Hoy! Kaya lang ako nag-order ng marami because I wanted to prove na yabang ka lang besides stress-eating to noh..”

“And I proved you wrong, right?” Lucas said grinning.

“Yeah, yeah, shut up”

After I devoured the baumkuchen, I first paid my bills and then filled up the contract, and gave it to Lucas, and hurriedly got out. But before that,he talked to me,

“So Paige huh?” he said.

“No one actually calls me that so could call me Min. And don’t worry, Babalik ako dito bukas.” I gave him an assuring smile

“No, I like Paige better, it makes me feel as if I’m special” He then gave a heart-warming smile.

“Oh, get over yourself Mr. Lucas you’re not as special as you think you are” I stuck my tongue out and left. It was already 9:45 so I called our driver and prepared myself to face my family, most especially my confused sister.
