THE END

The last thing I remember before I passed out is a pair of headlights speeding straight at my family's car as we cruised down the highway. There was a jolt, broken glass, bent walls, and blood, a whole lot of blood. And things went black.

The sound of voices and crying filled my ears but sounded distant. I opened my eyes and saw myself on a hospital bed. I willed myself to awake but I couldn't do it. My aunts and uncles were crowded around the bed with boxes of tissues. I saw a heartbeat monitor in the distance that was silent. No, I couldn't be...dead. I couldn't take the scene anymore. I couldn't stand seeing my family in such misery and not being able to comfort them and even worse, the fact that I was the cause of their sadness. I took one last look at them before closing my eyes. Maybe things will be better wherever this takes me. Maybe I can see my dad again.
