Chapter 1

I rested my head to the glass of my car window. There was no use in getting out of the car now... My parents were already home. So were my brothers. They must have come home for Christmas break early.

A light snow dusted the lawn and cars. But you could still see all the Christmas lights shining above the gutters and door. I looked around the car and gathered all my belongings. I pulled up my hood and ran around the house to get to the basement.

Unlocking the door was quite a challenge, because it was frozen shut, and my key got stuck in the keyhole. It was warm in the basement. I

put my purse on the coat rack, and then hung up my coat. I slipped of my boots and threw them by the door so I could easily get them on next

time.

I slunk over to my bed and sat. Ugh. I was so glad to be home from school, and I bet my brothers were happy to be home from collage for

Christmas break. The fire was almost out, so I went over to fix it.

I could hear them all talking upstairs. Being social wasn't really my thing. Even with my family. They were all to hard to talk to. I mean, having no sisters was part of it, but I don't talk to anybody. You

can't really talk to any of your 3 older brothers about anything. Not boyfriend problems, not bullying problems, and not social problems.
