As I felt the familiar tightening in my muscles, I braced myself for the transformation. I scream in pain and exultation as tawny feathers erupt from my skin, and the world turns black and white. Stretching out my wings and joyfully taking flight from the middle of my room, I soar out of the window and into the dark velvet sky. "Hoo Hoo" I shriek from deep in my chest, as the wondrous feeling of flight envelopes me. The tiny pricks of fire in the sky shine bright in my eyes as I fly higher and higher. Suddenly I feel my muscles tighten, the light sinew transforming, and I scream in fear as my weak body, human limbs flailing, falls towards the shadowed land below.
