Emily Webster and The Gods of Olympus {ON HOLD}

Chapter Three

"Welcome to New York!" cried my aunt. My mom's sister, aka my aunt, hugged her tightly. Then she went on to me, Evelyn and Colin. My uncle gave my mom an awkward kiss on the cheek, and then gave each of us a high-five. My cousins, Julie, Sandra, Aliza, and Will stood behind them, waiting for their turn to greet us. Before you meet them, let me introduce them; Julie is thirteen, and has long, brown, silky hair. She had tan skin, brown eys, and is about five foot five. She's going through a phase where she's obsessed with make up and Justin Bieber. Yuck. Sandra or Sandy or San is ten. She's really sporty, and has shoulder length brown hair with bangs. Her tan skin and her brown eyes resemble her sister's. Sandy's more like me. Aliza is a tall-ish eight year old. She has blonde hair, green eyes, and tan skin. She looks just like her mom. Will is six. He has really bleach-blond hair and light green eyes. He a small lovebug in first grade. My mom's sister, Aunt Belladonna or Aunt Bella or Aunt Donna, has blond hair like my mom, and she has green eyes. My Uncle Rick has brown hair. They are both in their fourties, and Belladonna is my mom's older sister by eight years, since my mom's thirty two. "Hi Em." said Julie, giving me a hug. "Hey Emmy!" said little Will. " 'Sup, emmy?" Sandy called to me. "We missed you, Emily." Aliza said. They each said hi to Evelyn and Colin, and instantly, Evelyn and Aliza were chatting their heads off. Poor Colin stood there with Will and his suitcase. Julie and Sandra were asking all sorts of questions. "How have you been?" "Have you been to LA yet?" "Are you playing soccer?" "Do you like Justin?" "Good, no, yes, no." I said quickly as we piled into their minivan. I sat in the far back with Sandra and Julie, while Ev and Alize and Colin and Will sat in the middle. My aunt drove and my mother sat in passenger side since my uncle was going to work in his own car. It was seven o'clock, and Julie yawned. Sandra whispered, "She's not normally up until ten or eleven. But she goes to sleep at midnight." I yawned myself. To me, it was still four. we had left at midnight THEIR time. I saw Evelyn and Colin doing the same. We drove for quite a while until we finally got to Saratoga Springs. We entered their home, and I was awed- it was HUGE! I soon found out that I would be sharing a room with Sandra  in Sandra's room, which was bigger. Evelyn was with Aliza, and Colin was in with Will. My mom was to sleep in the guest room, and Julie was in her own room. I put my stuff down and asked, "Can we go outside?" Sandra's face lit up. "Sure!" We walked downstairs and played soccer in their yard before going inside to do gymnastics in their basement, which had mats spread out on the floor and walls. "What are we doing tonight?" I asked, eager to find out what the Sages had planned for us. "well, I think that Grandma, Grandpa, the cuzis, and everyone else is coming over for dinner." She said as she di a flip. I did a cartwheel perfectly. "Was Julie... is she  a recluse or something?" "Sorta. She is alone a lot. I dunno why. But when she's around, she usually happy or sad or... well, she was what Mom calls 'Mood Swings'. She says I'll learn abput it in school. Next year, she says." I remembered that day. It was called the "Teen Talk" We learned about mood swings, and a bunch of other stuff too from this girl named Mary. "Yeah, you'll learn." I assured her quietly. "What else are we doing? I mean, I'm here for a whole week." "Well, my mom says that we're going to do our Slip n' Slide, and we can bake some cookies, and we can have a water gun fight, and... well, I kinda forgot the rest." We giggled and went outside to their trampoline. Sandra taught me how to do a forwards flip on it, whixh was super cool. But then my mind drifted off to my frineds in exotic places, and that made me down. "i'm just gonna go check my email, ok?" I said, slipping out. "Be right Back." I walked upstairs and took my IPod touch out of my bag. There were four emails. The first read,

Subject: Italia! VKTION

Just arrived in Italy. So awesome here! Our house is huge! WE HAVE A POOL!  Tomorrow, we're taking a train to Rome- I'm really excited- PJO and HOO!! We are also going to some other places as well. My room is a pastel blue, and the bed is huge. I have my own bathroom, and there's a vanity, and a huge closet in the bedroom. TTYL!

It's cool. I learned how to do a flip. Guess what?! I sat next to a guy named Percy jackson on plane- fraeky but cool. :)
