The Dating Game

Same day. Same time. Same place. That was the plan.

Nang pumayag na ang apat na magkakaibigan na makipagdate sa mga nakilala nila sa Finder ay napag-usapan nilang gawin ang date sa isang lugar lamang so they can look out for each other.

Ngayong gabi ay nasa Andreas sila, isang sikat na restaurant sa Rockwell. They are strategically seated close to each other. Each girl has a view of the others while on their respective dates. Sabi nila kailangan nilang bantayan ang isa't isa since this is the first time that they are going on a date with someone they don't really know.

Lacey brushed her hair with her right hand, the sign that she's ending her date soon. Napansin iyon ng kanyang mga kaibigan. Athena slightly nodded, as if responding to her date, to signify that she got the message. A few minutes later Tia rested her hand on her chin, which means she's giving the guy a few more minutes.

When Lacey and her date stood up to leave, Ellie brushed her hair as well. Nang makita ito ni Athena ay napagdesisyunan na ring tapusin ang usapan. She did the same gesture. Sumunod na lumabas si Athena at ang kanyang kasama.

About thirty minutes later, all girls were sprawled on the carpet inside Lacey's huge bedroom.

"Gosh, I don't think I'll ever forget this night!" Lacey said. "Never in my life did I imagine I would be doing this. Ever!"

"Okay lang 'yun. It's nice to experience it kahit once lang," ang sagot ni Tia. "Nag-enjoy naman ako. Kayo ba?"

Si Ellie ang unang sumagot, "Hmmm... my date was okay. He seems nice. Way too nice actually. Parang hindi kami bagay."

"Bakit, dahil ang mas gusto mo ay 'yung mga bad boys? That's why you always get your heart broken," ang parang nanunuway na sabi ni Athena.

"Hindi naman bad boy. It's just that this guy is way too nice for me. He might end up leaving me if he sees my true colors."

"What about you Athena, how was your date?" ang tanong ni Tia.

"Ganun din. He seems nice. Gentleman. Graduated from a good school."

"But?" ang dugtung ni Ellie.

"I don' know. I just don't feel any connection."

"But that's your type - good, intelligent guys," Lacey said.

"Don't get me wrong. I still like good guys. But this one, I'm not sure."

"Kung sa bagay, hindi naman por que the guy is your type automatic na that you will hit it off. Sometimes it's all about the spark," Ellie dreamily said.

"So what now?" Tia asked.

"Is it safe to say that our first dates were just alright and not that all fireworks type of date?" ang tanong ni Lacey.

The girls looked at each other before. One by one they all nodded in agreement.

"Back to Finder?" si Tia.

They all nodded again then immediately turned to their mobile phones to log in to their Finder accounts.

"I have a date tomorrow night!" Ellie excitedly announced to her friends.

"Oh wow!" sabi ni Tia.

"Sino?" ang tanong naman ni Athena.

"Exciting!" sambit ni Lacey.

Pinatapos muna ni Ellie ang mga kaibigan bago sumagot, "His name is Gavin. Grabe name pa lang he sounds too hot already. Anyway, of course I met him on Finder. After our failed first, date he and I started sending messages to each other. He seems okay kaya I agreed to a date with him," ang mahabang paliwanag ni Ellie.
