When I first thought of writing prequel stories to my I HUNT KILLERS series, it made sense to focus on Jazz. He’s the main character, after all!
So I wrote CAREER DAY [find it on my Wattpad profile] and it was a lot of fun. But one of the things about prequels is that they can really be about anything. And I realized that I didn’t have to stick to telling stories from Jazz’s point of view. The prequel short stories gave me an opportunity to show how other people saw Jazz.
And who better to see Jazz than his girlfriend, Connie?
I really had a lot of fun developing Connie’s character and her relationship with Jazz in the first book. After all, what kind of girl would fall in love with the son of a serial killer?
I decided to explore that a little more in NEUTRAL MASK, a prequel that takes us into Connie’s life and lets us see the world — and her troubled boyfriend — through her eyes. I hope you like it!
