Tears stung my eyes as my brother walked in. "Hey. Mackinzy? What are you doing in here?" "Our house is on fire and our parents were in it...." I spoke as blandly as she did. I spun around and ran out of the building as Jake called for me. I didn't care. I just kept running. Not stopping, not thinking. Just running before I realized where I was going. I ended up in our front yard. Sirens blaring, fire men spraying the flames. I fell to my knees shocked at what was before me. My house ingulfed in flames. I buried my head in my hands and began sobbing. I felt a hand on my shoulder. I didn't bother looking up. I was to weak. I just wish they made it out. But they didn't. Why? Why them? Why now? WHY NOT ME?!!! So many thoughts blaring through my mind. Engulfing me like the flames engulfing the house. Our house. My home. Jake's home. Bb's home. Mom's home. Dad's home. Our home..... "Excuse me,but I need you to leave." A calm voice spoke. I looked up and a man who looked about 30 and had light brown hair was standing beside me. I stood up and he escorted me to a car.
