A mother in bed holding her child,

Yet moments before they had been wild.

Screaming and crying from all around,

But what was unknown was soon to be found.

That bundle of love that held her hand,

Would soon grow up and learn to stand.

Her first steps and her first words,

To her father were just blurs.

He drowned his stress in whiskey and rum,

Even when drunk he knew it was dumb.

But it calmed him down during bad times,

If life was a mountain he did not want to climb.

The first day of school she said goodbye,

The bus picked her up she was way too shy.

She sat alone the whole way there,

Until came a girl with bright blonde hair.

They became friends as best as could be,

Then a boy got down on one knee.

She said yes and they decided to elope,

She will always remember those soft words he spoke.

He made vows to love her forever,

Give him up, she would never.

Under the arc there stood two,

One said "My love" the other "I do."

They had a honeymoon and a son,

Once he was born they already won.

His little hands and soft skin,

Made his mother and father grin.

They wanted a good name and decided on Blue,

And knew that one day he would grow up too.

He went to school and got a wife,

Grew up fast and lived his life.

His lovely, amazing mother and father,

Would soon be greeted by a new granddaughter.

They were getting old and wanted one soon,

So they were happy by this upcoming news.

The baby had been a little bit late,

For her grandma had met her fate.

Under a blanket she lays,

Lifeless.

The way she had gone,

It was fighless.

Her heart stopped beating in her sleep,

The memories she made she will keep.

She forgave her father for all he'd done,

Because she knew he wanted a son.

She didn't want her family to cry,

But at one point everyone has to die.
