Judging has officially begun. Here is the system the books will be judged with.

All the books from categories 1 - 4 will be judged on the same criteria:

Grammar/Punctuation

Characterization

Character Development

Storyline/Plot

Overall Engagement

Here is how the scoring system works:

Each book starts with a score of  0. The judge will read a minimum of 5 chapters, and each chapter will be given a score ranging from -5 to +5 for both grammar/punctuation, and characterization. Once the judge has finished reading, they will give the story a score ranging from -5 to +5 on each character development, and overall engagement, and a score between -10 and +10 on storyline/plot. The scores will be added up to give a final total. The story with the highest positive total (of each category) will be crowned the winner.

Poetry will be judged on:

Grammar

Figurative Language

Message/Feeling

Each poetry book starts with a score of 0. The judge will read 5 poems from each book and give each poem a score from -5 to +5 on grammar, and a score from -10 to +10 on both figurative language, and message/feeling. The scores will be added up to give a final total. The poetry book with the highest positive total will be crowned the winner.
