Olivia POV

Almost tripping over my own feet, I ran down the wooden staircase to Joshua. My booted feet crushing the salt beneath them, I grabbed his dirt stained hands and pulled my brother to his feet.

Turning with my body protecting Joshua, I addressed the blonde haired witch who was Klaus' Mother. "You monster!" I screeched, noticing the dried blood on his skin I stepped away from Josh and pointed my finger in the Witch's face, "You hurt him! You're not going to get away with this!"

Breathing quick with anger I clenched my fists tight and felt the ground beneath my feet begin to rumble, "You won't get away with this." I stated bluntly.

I felt Joshua's hands on my shoulders attempting to calm me, "Calm down, Liv, we need to get out of here." he whispered softly and removed his hands from my shoulders to take a step back toward the exit.

From the corner of my eye I noticed that Klaus had already descended the stairs, and was stood in front of his Mother.

With a pleased expression, the older Witch nodded toward each of us in the room, "The two of you may leave. Olivia, you have done all that I required of you."

Confusion spread throughout my being, "What did I do?" I asked suspiciously, grabbing Joshua's hand and moving to take the first step up the stairs of our escape.

Klaus shook his head and ran his fingers coarsely through his hair, "This was her plan all along." he gave a hateful stare to his Mother, "She used you to lure me here to do her bidding. Isn't that right, Mother?"

As Klaus began to pace the floor he muttered under his breath, "Oh, I have been a foolish son."

Filled with utter confusion and sorrow for the man I had hardly begun to know, I turned away and walked up the stairs pulling my brother along with me.

Closing the door behind myself quietly, I looked up to see a disappointed look in my brother's eyes, "Aren't we going to help him?" Josh asked, "That woman is evil." he stated with a glassy look behind his blue eyes.

Suddenly I felt herself harden against Josh's question, I couldn't let myself consider Klaus or anyone else other than my brother.

"Josh." I grabbed his hand and held it tightly in mine, "If there is one thing I have learned in my search for you, it is that family is forever. And no one knows that better than Niklaus Mikaelson."

Allowing myself to faintly smile, I whispered a quick "Thank you." knowing that the Original could hear me from behind the closed door.

Linking mine and Joshua's arms, we began our journey back home - where ever that was.
