"No. No no no no no." I said firmly.

Scar glanced at me and sighed.

"Kitten, please keep your drama performances under control. It's just a fucking car. No need for an Academy Award-winning show now. I want to get home just as much as you do." he said with another sigh.

"Yes, but I want to get home alive!" I snapped as his friend stopped the car in front of us. Scar smiled and walked up to the car, dragging me behind by the wrist. The window slid down.

"Hey, dude." his friend said. He had long brown hair tied back in a ponytail and blue eyes that slid away from Scar and to me. I could see some kind of feather tattoo crawling up his tanned skin. He had a nose ring on the left side and a cigarette between his teeth. What most caught my attention was the shiny pink scar that ran down the length of his face. Even though he was sitting down, I could still make out how buff he was. He was at least 7 feet with muscles that a bodybuilder would have.

In other words, he was absolutely terrifying.

"Hey Mike." Scar greeted, pushing me in front of him. He opened the door and motioned for me to get inside. I shook my head quickly. Scar's friend was just as terrifying as the bartender.

"What's going on, man?" Mike asked. "I know you've gotten yourself into some shit but this really takes the cake. I had to drive all the way from Surrey to pick your ass up."

"Sorry. The car broke down and we had been walking for hours now. Can you give us a ride back home?" Scar asked, glaring at me. He put a hand on my back and tried pushing me harder into the open seat but I was determined not to budge. Didn't he have other friends that, you know, don't look like serial killers?

"Why else would I be here?" Mike replied. "Who's your friend?"

"This is Genevieve. And kitten, this is Mike. He's an underground MMA fighter. Now get in the car." Scar said, a hint of a warning in his voice. I took a deep breath and looked inside. There was only one row of seats. The driver's seat, which Mike occupied, one in the middle, and then shotgun. That meant I would have to sit in the middle of the two.

I nervously climbed inside the car and took a seat next to Mike. He smiled, trying to be nice, but it made him look even more scarier. Scar jumped inside as well, sitting down on the passenger seat. He pushed me over, making me squished between them. I uncomfortably squirmed. I could feel their body heat on either side of me. My leg was touching Scar's and I nervously inched away, trying to be away from him but also away from Mike.

Awkward.

Mike threw his cigarette out the window and began driving. I tried to stay as still as possible. The ridge of Scar's seat was digging into my back and I was fully aware of Mike's humongous leg brushing against mine. Scar rested his hand on my leg, which I pushed away with a death glare. He merely smirked back.

"Kitten?" Mike suddenly said. "Man, you go through them fast."

It took me a moment to realize that he was talking about when Scar introduced me to him. Scar had called me kitten, and Mike was obviously amused now. But I wished he hadn't brought it up. My cheeks began to get heated.

Scar chuckled darkly.

"Remember Christina?" Mike continued.

I felt Scar stiffen next to me.

"Man, she was something else. I remember how you used to call her Bambi because she-"

"Mike." Scar growled.
