I sit here caught 'tween wake and sleep

Anticipation high

I've crammed for weeks to pass this test,

It's sure my night to fly

But where to go and what to see

On this first excursion

Should I wander nearby rooms or

A space diversion

The mechanism's quite the same

Though destinations differ

In dreams I walk with no regard,

Thoughtful trips are stiffer

At least when one is astralized

There is the  press of will

To look at places on the earth

Or hike a Martian hill

To make the jump to astral plains

With open conscious mind

Requires courageous confidence

Not often well defined

Fear will stop the thinking mind

From stepping out to walk

There's freedom found in sleep release

When in our dreams we talk

Our guides and teachers find a way

To feed our knowledge base

So subtle do they add it in

It's hard to find a trace

And still it's there, like answered prayer

To tap in at our need

Our intuition's flash of sight

If we will just pay heed

Rehearsal time is over now

I know the lines to say

With stage support I'm happy now

To offer up the play
