Chapter 47 | Rumours

Igaram's words add to your uncertainty about your identity. You keep thinking about what an organisation that is threatening enough to have the potential of taking over a kingdom could want from you. The only idea you could come up with is that they want to take advantage of your abilities.

But how do they know about them?

"What kind of rumours are you talking about?" Nami asks from behind you. "Y/N... how can someone like her be possibly wanted by Baroque Works?" Her voice is full of doubt.

"I was thinking the same thing," Igaram replies. "Some people in the organisation were saying that S. G. possesses immense power. She is rumoured to be immortal, can sink whole ships with her will and probably could destroy the world we know." You cover your agape mouth and Nami grimaces in unbelief.

"Are you kidding me? Those rumours sound way too surreal. Who in the world could do that?!" Nami says as a final statement then runs off when she hears a loud ruckus near the town centre.

"Well, she isn't wrong. But with those kinds of rumours floating around, it wasn't a surprise that not many were keen on capturing you," he says with his eyes fixated on you. "You can't imagine how hard it was to put on an act tonight. We thought we would be goners if you found out but here you are accepting my request and even tending to my wounds, I am utmost thankful!"

When Igaram sees that you are in a daze he tries to make the situation sound less severe. "It's still quite unbelievable, right? There has to be some kind of misunderstanding that led to those rumours. The positive thing is that nobody from Baroque Works would want to anger you... although if the boss knew this they would all be taught a harsh lesson..." he mumbles the last part to himself.

"My image must've been pretty bad," you whisper. "How did the boss know about me?"

Igaram thinks for a moment, then answers, "Since Crocodile is a Shichibukai, I'm guessing he got information through that title. Now that I think about it, I remember being told that the first rumours about you appeared after Crocodile was in a phone conference with another Shichibukai."

"...Crocodile?"

He looks at you blankly for a second. "Oh no I just revealed the boss' identity! This isn't good, you will be in danger!"

To your right, a bird and an otter are sitting on a roof have been observing your conversation. One of them scribbles something down on a notepad.

// Meanwhile...

"Let's fight it out then! I have always wanted to see who is stronger!" Zoro shouts.

"Come here, you liar! How could you cut the townsfolk who fed us?!" Luffy yells.

Due to a completely unreasonable cause, the two of them start fighting each other and ignoring the actual enemies from Baroque Works. When the agents from the organisation tried to get themselves involved, they were beaten without much care. Thankfully Nami put a stop to their quarrel.

"Why is she always so affectionate towards an idiot like you?!" Zoro huffs while being held apart from his captain.

"I don't even know what you're talking about!" Luffy retorts.

"Settle down already!" With another punch to their heads, Nami manages to shut them up. //

"Are you sure about this plan?" Nami looks at Igaram's questionable disguise.

"This will work out. While I dress up as princess Vivi and take these dummies to represent the wanted pirates with me, I'll let Baroque Works agents chase me while you can escape," he explains. "May we meet again in our homeland!"

After that, Igaram departs with a ship docked on the island. Suddenly, you could hear the sound of cannons going off in the distance, the direction where Igaram's ship is headed to. Despite the worry for him, you and the others have no other choice but to use the chance he provided to shake off any pursuers. While you are running towards the Going Merry, you could only think about the stern expression Vivi wore on her face when she saw the flying cannonballs.

She's strong, was the first thought that popped into your mind.

Not long after you all boarded the ship, Sanji and Usopp finally woke up from their unheeding slumber. Of course, those two were bombarding the rest of you with questions as to why you had to leave so suddenly. Before anyone could answer, Nami uses her very effective trick to make someone stop talking.

The ship is getting further and further away from the island. While everyone was goofing around and became more relaxed, an unnoticed person sneaked onto the ship. With her face shadowed by a purple cowboy hat, she sits cunningly on the railing and observes you from above.

"Congratulations on your escape," the mysterious lady says.

Everyone jerk their head around and turn their attention to her. Only one of you is able to recognise the figure.

"What are you doing here, Miss All-Sunday?" Vivi asks, petrified by her superior's presence.

"Whose partner is she?" Nami asks as soon as she hears the code name of the agents from Baroque Works.

"She's Mr. 0's partner. She's the only one who knows the boss' true identity, which is why Igaram and I tailed her to find out who the boss is," Vivi responds.

"Well technically, it was more like I let you tail after me," Miss All-Sunday corrects.

"I already knew that! I bet you're the one who told the boss that his identity was leaked!" Vivi exclaims.

The lady in purple grins when she sees the princess get worked up about it. "It was just too amusing to observe someone who foolishly thinks she can take on the entire organisation to save her kingdom."

"Don't you underestimate me!" Vivi's frustration and anger could be heard from her voice.

Miss All-Sunday just continues to grin and seemingly enjoy the situation. She glances around and suddenly her clear eyes land on you. "Ara~ someone interesting showed up."
