Deep Down

Deep down, I knew it was never going to be the same,
deep down, I knew lives wouldn't be just a game.

The time when we wished to grow up so fast,
when we never knew those moments would turn to past.

The time when everything turned into something to play,
when you never knew words like hurt, pain, sadness and dismay.

The time when daddy was the smartest man alive,
when the greatest victory was a game of police-thief and someone survived

The time when mamma was the only nice woman out there,
when her hand was so important to hold while going everywhere.

The time when brothers and sisters were the coolest people we knew,
when anything said by everyone was meant to be true.

The time when friends didn't pretend to be someone they're not,
when no one gave a care in the world about whom and who fought.

Oh how I wish I could bring back those days,
when the skies were always blue and they never turned grey.

Deep down, I knew it was never going to be the same,
deep down, I knew lives wouldn't be just a game.
