Nothing.

A word, a simple word that can mean anything, everything, or just simply nothing.

Anything can be nothing.

Nothing can be anything.

Everything can be nothing.

And nothing can be everything.

You see where I am going with this?

Why is the default answer to everything, nothing?

The nosey parent shall ask; "What happened at school today?"

"Oh, nothing," will come the tired and over used reply.

Why, as humans, do we feel that everything is nothing?

Are we simply uninterested and see the things we do as pointless?

Are we bored with the same routine that goes from something to nothing?

Are we trying to mask the pain, the pain caused by something, but to the victim, nothing?

Why are we, as humans, so eager to do nothing?
