i wander

i like to lay awake at night,

with goosebumps along my arms

from the open windows, and                         i like to

with numb-as-my-mind skin                          wonder.

encapsulating my weak bones

because i can.

                                      i like to sit on windowsills,

                                      facing the sky and the ground and the in - between

      i like to                   and put my toes on the roof,

      wander.                  so it looks like i'm about to jump

                                      but i'm just fooling the world into

                                      thinking its won.

i like to think a lot,

until my thoughts have lost their way.

i like to dream a lot,

until my hopes are nothing if not frayed.

                                          i like to wonder internally

                                          and wander physically.

                                          i like to pretend and create;

                                          i like to believe in the

                                          unbelieveable;

                                  i like to put my very essence into

                                          words and use them to

                                  paint my canvasses; every single

                                                  one of them.
