Little Hearts
I have a little heart
But it gives a lot of love
Passing out concern
No need for any in return
I have a little heart
That only grows when it receives
With nothing being sent my way
Its size only recedes
I have a little heart
With some bruises and some cuts
A bit roughed up, so
Now the outer skin is tough
I have a little heart
That is starving itself dry
Giving away its love, its blood
Like there’s an unlimited supply
I have a tiny heart
Lonely, lifeless, and free
If you ever need a drop of warmth
Take what’s cut open and bleeding from me
