Ariel passed me a tissue as we finished 'His Last Vow.' We were both crying, shouting, and laughing.
"I can't believe you illegally downloaded all the seasons on my laptop," she chuckled, wiping away tears.
"Don't tell anyone, Ariel. I shouldn't have done it," I giggled cheekily.
We sat there in silence as I started an episode of Doctor Who.
"Do you love him?" Ariel asked.
I choked on my glass of water and looked at her, a puzzled look on her face.
"David Tennant? Yeah, I mean-"
"No I mean Dr. Reid. You two are something right? I did see you two macking on each other's faces..."
"You're straight to the point, aren't you, Ms. Weiss?" I laughed, my face going pink.
"Well? Do you love him?" she asked again, nudging me.
"Yes," I replied.
"Aw!" she giggled.
Her bright smile turned into a frown. I grew confused.
"What's wrong?" I asked.
"My boyfriend, Xavier, before I went missing. He said... he said he loved me. He had never said that before and I didn't say it back. I haven't seen him yet, since I got into the hospital," she explained.
"What does he look like?" I asked with a smile.
"Oh he's beautiful. He's from London, England. His family had moved here two years ago. We were best friends for about a year before we started to feel a little more towards each other. He has brown hair and gorgeous brown eyes that made my heart melt when I first met him," she sighed, holding a book to her chest.
"He has a great sense of humor and he watches a bunch of nerdy stuff with me and he took me to a fan expo and stuff like that. He's so great and I... I love him. But I'm scared he's gone forever. I'm scared he won't love me anymore."
"You love me?" a voice asked, coming from the doorway.
Both of our eyes looked to the source. I saw a boy who looked like a miniature David Tennant. His accent was flawless. I understood why Ariel had fallen for him.
"I'll leave you two alone," I smiled, getting off of the bed.
I walked by Xavier, who smiled at me.
"Jess," I smiled, shaking his hand.
"Xavier," he replied.
"Good luck," I whispered.
He nodded and smiled at me, scurrying into the room and crawling into the bed beside her. Someone came up behind and grabbed my waist. I jumped.
"Shh. It's alright. It's me," Spencer whispered in my ear.
"You scared me," I chuckled.
"How's Ariel going?" he asked.
"Good. That's her boyfriend, Xavier. She told me she loved him and she hadn't told him. He walked into the room and heard. So they're fixing things now," I explained.
"They seem fine now," he smiled.
I looked over at Ariel and Xavier. They were cuddling in the hospital bed, watching the laptop. Her eyes were on the screen, and his eyes were on her. He kissed her forehead and pulled her as close as he could. They were perfect. I smiled.
"It's the look," I said quietly.
"What look?" Spencer asked.
I looked back at him with a pink face.
"Oh um... when I was little, I loved watching Disney Princess movies like any other little girl. Garcia always told me how the Disney princes would give their princess the look, and that with this look, you knew that he was in love with her. Ever since then, I just call it 'the look.' But my favorite thing about it, was the princess was never looking when she got 'the look.' I still look back on my childhood before Garcia and Derek, and I never see my father give my mother 'the look.' Never. And it breaks my heart because I always saw my mother give it to him."
I bursted into tears, putting my face into my hands. Spencer pulled me close and hugged me. He kissed my forehead.
"You know what breaks my heart?" he asked.
I looked up at him and he brushed a few tears away. He kissed my forehead.
"What?"
"That you're never looking when I give 'the look' to you."
