So Long My Friend

So long my friend we mount this hill
To join on high…”Our hearts do fill,”
So whisper’s courage blissful gate
We met upon the path our fate,
And who shall differ? Downfall’s chill?
You raced ahead I join you still,
For I will follow you this date
We met upon the stage to wait,
So long my friend.
Court not the throne without his will
Your ruin awaits the fiery kiln
The Devil lures with lust his mate
Be not the one who finds this fate;
I follow toward our home until,
So long my friend.
