New Age Stereotypes

Although we may walk two abreast,

And chatter like those Christian mothers,

But deep down, each time oppression hits,

We crumble like these new age stereotypes.

Mental fumbles become fashionable,

Lies are told to please those we need not.

Your skirt height determines your purity,

And the straightness of your hair is God.

Feminists and vegans rule,

Men, opinions and meat-eaters drool.

While this goes on, other girls swoon,

Over 'gay' men wishing to lead straight lives.

Society's rules are intact and striving,

Though children starve, do parents not?

Our world is full of exclusive nonsense,

Inclusive to those fitting the strings.

Cut down the middle, all can be seen,

But self-hate is the new jewel,

When a diamond splits, beauty is shattered,

And the world may see the ugly truth.

Materials indulge us, Society gropes us,

Words hurt even more than real opinions.

New age stereotypes are as bad,

As the Modern culture on which they are founded.
