THE WORD "SEXUAL IMMORALITY"

In the New Testament, the word porneia means immorality, and it refers to all sexual sin, and all sexual sin is against God and against godly love. The word "sexual immorality" is also translated as whoredom, fornication, and idolatry. It means "a surrendering of sexual purity", and it is primarily used of premarital sexual relations.

Moreover, the word immoral is normally used to describe persons or actions that violate any of the moral laws, norms and standards. Immorality is evil, sinful, iniquity, aberrant, demonic, wrong behaviour; wickedness, corrupt and dishonest. Sexual immorality is the "selling off" of sexual purity and involves any type of sexual expression outside the boundaries of a biblically defined marriage relationship. Jesus makes it clear in Matthew 19:4-5 that:

"And he answered and said unto them, have ye not read, that he who made them at the beginning made them male and female. And said, for this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?"
