You're just wasting away, thinking about the past again.

Eyes shut tight, you breathe in the burning air.

You hear them, echoing around your palace.

They yell your name.

Lola, they say. Lola get over here now.

The illumination of the full moon lights your path

The marble floor twinkling and glittering under its innocent glow.

You take a step.

You look around the darkness of your mind,

Searching for your dear courage, on the run.

It’s gone. You’re not. Breathe.

Lola, they shriek.

No shimmer anymore, just shadows suffocating you.

And then you see the light at the peak of the grand staircase.

After passing the kitchen now, you’ve finally reached heaven.

Lola, you’re on your way.

Indeed, you were on your way, but the uproar got louder.

They were desperate and wild,

like animals, vicious and feral.

Please? Hide.

You hear a BOOM! BANG! CRASH!

Through the needle thin gap of the wardrobe doors, you see

Red hot anger, blistering rage,

as sharp as a shard of sizzling glass.

Lola, Lola, Lola. Lola.

You made a mistake.

You weren’t silent enough.

They knew where you were planning to hide.

They were ready for you.

CRASH! BANG! BOOM!

The wardrobe door splinters inwards, raining down miniature swords.

They pierce your skin, drawing blood.

That’s when you finally open your eyes.

The palace of your thoughts fade away.

 Relief. Awake.
