This photo of the inspection of the SS guards performed by Hitler and his right hand man, was useful for us because it shows how important this whole thing really was to him. It helped us understand what they did behind the scenes.

This is a picture of the barracks for the prisoners at Dachau. It helped our group understand how crammed it was to sleep at night, and how many people we estimated to have to share a barrack.

This photograph of the United Nations Council at one of their first meetings, shows how the holocaust really did effect the world. The Holocaust began with Dachau, so in a way this is the long term effect. The United Nations started because of the Holocaust but is still around today in an attempt to prevent another disaster such as a world war. It helped us realize how important Dachau and the holocaust was.

This photograph of the entrance to Dachau was helpful for our group because it provided us with a main picture and signified that it was a prison, not just a camp.

This picture of Himmler (Hitler’s right hand man) inspecting the camp model shows how much he had to do with this camp. It shows that the camp was taken care of over seen by people high up and close to Hitler, people he trusted.

The picture sourced above shows the raw emotion that must have affected many of the survivors that were freed when Dachau was liberated. It helps to show just how much it affected their lives.
