silence

Like lightening you vanished,
From my lonely life,
All those nightly talks,
Turned to unheard whispers,
Until silence plagued my ears,
And loneliness lurked in my heart,
Taunting me, mocking me,
Knitting a blanket of darkness,
While I wondered, while I pondered,
What might I have done,
To have awaken,
Ignited the fire,
Of this alienation,
The wall of hatred,
That we laid brick by brick,
Between our lively spirits...
Alas , how I wished
I was a diamond
Or a sweet fragile rose,
Then I might have been,
A desired treasure to keep...
You simply left unnoticed,
And left me standing there,
As the wind cursed ,
And  the cold embraced me
With his icy fingers,
Behind the brick wall....
I waited
And waited
For you
To say good bye
But all I heard
Was an eerie silence
That was foreign to my ears...
