When I got home, I rushed to my room with Emily's gift. My mom had said to wait and open all the gifts with the family but I refused. I locked the door and sat on my bed with the box. I felt like I was like holding a magic wand. I slowly opened the box. I didn't know what I was expecting, but it sure wasn't this. There was a small clear crystal. I found a small piece of red paper that sat inside. I unfolded it. It said "For good luck." I don't believe in this stuff, I thought and placed it on my dresser. I slowly walked downstairs to open my other gifts.

The next day I kept on staring at Emily. I also saw her like taking something out of her boot. I could have sworn it was a magic wand. I didn't talk to anyone that day. Later, when I got home, my dad came running into the room. "I WON THE LOTTERY!' he screamed. What was he talking about? I thought to myself. Does this have anything to do with the crystal?
